Tiny Header Board | PCB Design

Tiny Header Board
Version 1 - Last update: Oct 4, 2015

Tiny header board for the Atmel AVR *ATTiny *chips in DIP-8 such as ATTiny 25/45/85.

The goal is to have a board that you can start using right a way, contains the minimum required components to run properly and will even let you prototype simple projects without using a breadboard.

This is а circuit that I've been using for a while and now would like to build it and share it here.

Here is what it has:

  • The ISP is 10-pin - most programmer you find today on the market, especially more affordable ones, use such connector.
  • There are 2 header connectors (female 2x4) to connect to the chip I/O pins, there are 2-row where one is GND so you can connect some external components directly on the board.
  • There is a LED to indicate that the power is on but there is also a jumper to disconnect it in case you don't need it but it is already soldered.

What it does not have:

  • There is no connectors for XTAL because for most tiny projects it is not needed. In all cases it could be connected directly to the headers.
